Finance Assistant - Part Time - Bodmin - 3 days (0.6 FTE)
I’m currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Bodmin. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and collaborative finance team in a varied and hands-on role focused on maintaining accurate ledgers, managing credit control and completing regular reconciliations across multiple systems. This position will suit someone who enjoys working methodically, keeping accounts tidy and resolving supplier and customer queries directly.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function while gaining exposure to month-end checks, VAT coding and general finance administration. The company offers a supportive and team-focused culture, alongside flexibility around working days. This is an ideal opportunity for someone seeking a long-term part-time role within a busy and evolving finance environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements
- Maintaining sales ledger accuracy including raising invoices and allocating receipts
- Managing credit control activity and following up overdue balances
- Completing bank, Shopify and PayPal reconciliations
- Supporting month-end ledger reviews and preparing reconciliation schedules
- Assisting with VAT coding and expense or company-card checks
- Maintaining financial records and supporting management-accounts and audit preparation
- Providing day-to-day support to the Finance Director and wider team
We’re keen to speak with Finance Assistants, Accounts Assistants, Bookkeepers or Accounts Administrators with previous experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations and credit control. Experience using Xero, Shopify or PayPal would be highly beneficial, alongside strong Excel skills and confidence working independently.
