About the Role:

You'll design, coordinate and deliver a varied programme of activities that support young people to build confidence, develop employability skills and progress towards sustainable employment.

Working closely with Employment Mentors, Employer Engagement colleagues and external partners, you'll create engaging experiences that encourage participation, develop workplace skills and help young people overcome barriers to progression.

From employer visits and careers workshops to creative projects, digital activities and community-based initiatives, no two days will be the same. You'll play a key role in ensuring participants remain motivated, engaged and prepared for the next step in their journey.

What You'll Be Doing:

Activity Design & Delivery

β€’ Design, coordinate and deliver a rolling programme of engaging group and individual activities aligned to participant needs, aspirations and progression goals.

β€’ Deliver welcoming, inclusive and interactive sessions that support employability, personal development and confidence building.

β€’ Use a range of approaches including creative activities, technology, gaming, sport, volunteering, employer-led sessions and community projects.

β€’ Prepare session plans, resources and learning objectives to ensure activities are purposeful and outcome-focused.

β€’ Adapt activities to meet different learning styles, communication needs, abilities and confidence levels.

Participant Engagement & Development

β€’ Build positive relationships with participants using a strengths-based and supportive approach.

β€’ Help young people develop key employability skills including communication, teamwork, problem solving, resilience and workplace behaviours.

β€’ Support participants to recognise and promote their strengths through CVs, applications, interviews and employer interactions.

β€’ Encourage participation, build confidence and support individuals who may face barriers to engagement.

β€’ Deliver activities and experiences that increase understanding of employment opportunities, workplace expectations, industries and career pathways.

Partnership Working & Coordination

β€’ Coordinate activity delivery with employers, training providers, community organisations and specialist partners.

β€’ Work closely with Employment Mentors to ensure participant progress and learning are reflected within action plans.

β€’ Promote activities through engaging communications and support participant attendance and engagement.

β€’ Build relationships with local services, education providers, youth organisations and employers to widen opportunities for participants.

β€’ Support programme events, outreach activities and employer engagement initiatives.

Safeguarding, Inclusion & Professional Practice

β€’ Place participant wellbeing, safety and inclusion at the centre ofall activity delivery.

β€’ Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, disclosures and wellbeing issues.

β€’ Promote equality, diversity and inclusion and ensure activities are accessible to all participants.

β€’ Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality and appropriate use of digital communications.

β€’ Create safe, respectful and supportive learning environments where participants can thrive.

Quality, Compliance & Performance

β€’ Maintain accurate and timely records of attendance, engagement, participant progress and activity outcomes in line with contractual and organisational requirements.

β€’ Complete risk assessments and ensure activities are delivered safely and in line with organisational policies.

β€’ Monitor engagement, attendance and participant progress, taking action to address barriers to participation.

β€’ Evaluate the effectiveness of activities using feedback, attendance data and progression outcomes.

β€’ Support participants to progress into mentoring support, training, work experience, interviews and employment opportunities.

β€’ Manage resources and budgets responsibly, ensuring value for money and effective use of equipment and facilities.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for someone who combines creativity, organisation and empathy with a genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.

Essential Requirements

β€’ Experience planning, coordinating or delivering engaging activities, workshops or group sessions for young people or young adults.

β€’ Understanding of the barriers faced by young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

β€’ Strong facilitation, presentation and communication skills.

β€’ Ability to engage, motivate and build rapport with a diverse range of participants.

β€’ Experience supporting individuals who face barriers to employment, education or engagement.

β€’ Understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity, health and safety and professional boundaries.

β€’ Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and activities.

β€’ Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital engagement tools.

β€’ Ability to maintain accurate records and monitor participant progress.

β€’ Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the contract area.

Desirable

β€’ Experience within employability, youth work, education, careers guidance, community development or publicly funded services.

β€’ Experience delivering creative, digital, sports, gaming, virtual reality, volunteering or project-based activities.

β€’ Knowledge of local labour markets, training opportunities and career pathways for young people.

β€’ Relevant qualification in youth work, training, coaching, careers guidance, employability or a related field

.β€’ First Aid qualification and experience completing risk assessments.
