We are looking for an Employment Advisor to join our team, supporting people across the Middlesbrough & Redcar area move into sustainable employment. This is a role for someone who believes in people, sees potential even when others may not, and wants to be part of those moments when someone takes a real step forward.

About the role:
As an Employment Adviser you will work with participants one-to-one, helping them prepare for work, build confidence, develop employability skills, apply for jobs, prepare for interviews and settle into employment. You will also work with employers, Jobcentre teams and partner organisations to create opportunities and make sure people get the right support at the right time. You'll support people from a variety of backgrounds, tailoring your approach to meet individual needs and helping participants overcome barriers that may be preventing them from reaching their potential. No two days are the same, but every day offers the chance to change a life.

Essential Skills & Experience
• Experience of working in a target-driven environment and achieving agreed performance outcomes
• Experience of supporting individuals to achieve employment, training, education or personal development goals
• Experience of managing a caseload and developing personalised action plans to support individuals towards sustainable employment
• Experience of supporting individuals with multiple and complex barriers to employment
• Ability to build effective and professional relationships with participants, employers, referral partners and external stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles to meet individual needs
• Strong coaching, mentoring and motivational skills, with the ability to positively challenge and encourage progression
• Ability to identify participants' strengths, transferable skills and development needs and translate these into realistic employment goals
• Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and the ability to accurately maintain participant records and management information systems
• Understanding of local labour market opportunities, recruitment practices and employability support services
• Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to team and organisational objectives
• Ability to work within a performance and target-driven environment whilst maintaining a high-quality participant experience
• Flexible, resilient and adaptable with a commitment to supporting people to achieve their full potential.
Desirable:
• Knowledge of the Restart Scheme or other DWP-funded employability programmes
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and the wider support landscape available to unemployed individuals
• Level 3 Information, Advice and Guidance qualification or equivalent
• Experience of employer engagement, vacancy sourcing and supporting recruitment activity
• Experience of partnership working with external agencies and specialist support providers
• Experience within employability, skills, training, education or welfare-to-work programmes
