About the role

We are seeking an Employability Trainer to deliver an employability and skills programme that empowers participants to overcome barriers, build confidence, and progress toward sustainable employment or further education. This role is pivotal in creating a positive learning environment while actively connecting learners with real opportunities in the local labour market.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver employability and skills training programmes to participants.
  • Provide personal coaching and learner engagement to help learners gain practical skills and sector insights.
  • Use Labour Market Information (LMI) for the Doncaster area to guide learners toward realistic and rewarding career paths.
  • Act as a broker between participants and employers, promoting inclusive recruitment practices and developing partnerships that lead to tangible job outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with local stakeholders, employers, and support services to ensure the programme delivers measurable impact.
  • Maintain strict quality and compliance regimes, create high quality learning materials, and evaluate courses to ensure they add value.
  • Nurture continuous improvement, share best practice, and take on additional tasks to meet high standards.

Required Criteria

  • Proven experience in delivering training, coaching or developing others.
  • Training qualification such as PTTLS, Education & Training or CAVA.
  • Performance driven with the ability to work to various targets including performance and quality measures.
  • Experience as a trainer or facilitator.
  • Experience of being accountable for own work, e.g. delivery of required courses in a professional and timely fashion.
  • Excellent communicator both verbal and written.
  • Personal skills include creativity, inspirational impact, command attention, commitment, and high motivation.
  • Passion for improving the lives of others and for transforming people’s lives through teaching and learning.
  • 1+ year of training and development experience.
  • Experience in the training cycle (Training Needs Analysis – Training Design – Training Delivery – Training Evaluation).
  • Teaching qualifications across various sectors.
  • Keen interest in self-development.
  • Exposure to individuals with multiple or complex barriers (e.g., incapacity benefit claimants, single parents, those with criminal records, mental health groups, specific disabilities).
  • Knowledge of welfare/benefits system.
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans aligned with learner goals.
  • Previous work with diverse student populations.
