Location: London or Sheffield (with travel to the other site as required)
Onsite Requirement: Typically 1 day per week, but could be as much as 3 days depending on project needs
Are you a highly experienced Technology Procurement Lead / Commercial Manager with extensive experience of leading transformational procurement initiatives for Technology services, ideally including Application Development and Support? Are you comfortable being hands-on in the creation of contract and service schedules, whilst operating at a senior level with both commercial and technical stakeholders? This is an exciting opportunity to join an enterprise scale organisation at a time of major transformation and modernisation. The Technology Procurement Lead / Commercial Manager will need to be confident “parachuting in” to in-flight transformation programmes and making contributions very quickly. The Technology Procurement Lead / Commercial Manager will be instrumental in delivering a complex supplier transition programme, working with large scale tech consultancies with on-shore/off-shore capabilities. This will include the transition from a key supplier and consolidation of multiple smaller suppliers into an optimised, streamlined supplier base. The Technology Procurement Lead / Commercial Manager will have worked in large-scale, complex supplier landscapes and relish the opportunity to take full ownership of deliverables. You’ll work closely with commercial and technical stakeholders, and support the organisation through critical vendor selections and transitions within tight timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement activity across a major technology supplier transition programme
- Analyse extensive, disparate data sources to build a clear view of current contracts, incident volumes, categories and contract scope
- Conduct deep‑dive reviews of supplier contracts, identifying obligations, performance gaps, and optimisation opportunities
- Develop and write contract schedules, service schedules, and SLA frameworks—ensuring contractual structures are robust, enforceable and fit for purpose
- Support the transition from numerous smaller suppliers to a simplified, strategic supplier base
- Engage effectively with senior stakeholders across technical, commercial and operational teams
- Operate successfully in a changing organisation, building trust, leaning into challenges and taking ownership of problem areas
Required Experience & Skills
- Significant commercial and procurement experience within technology categories
- Proven background in technology supplier transition programmes, ideally involving large‑scale onshore/offshore delivery models (e.g AD&M or wider technology services)
- Demonstrable experience working with major “Big 4 / Big Tech” suppliers
- Expert-level contract knowledge, including authoring contract schedules, service schedules and SLAs. Ability to interpret complex contractual structures and identify risks or weaknesses.
- Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to interrogate contract data, incident reports, application inventories and other inputs to create clarity from incomplete or inconsistent information
- Strong stakeholder management abilities across both technical and commercial audiences.
- Ability to “hit the ground running” in a fast-paced environment with minimal handholding.
