The predicted salary is between 60000 - 80000 £ per year.
Location: Central London (hybrid, 2-3 days per week onsite)
Rate: £650-750/day (inside IR35)
Duration: initial 6-month contract
This role is to join an enterprise-scale business, and an instantly recognisable household name. Their Cloud strategy is in its infancy and they’re looking for a Platform Engineer to join their Engineering team. You’ll need to be a self-starter, able to work on your own initiative, and thrive in an environment where you may not have all the answers immediately. The role will offer the Platform Engineer the opportunity to really make tangible contributions to the Cloud strategy and technical toolkit selection.
What you’ll do:
- Design, implement, and support Azure cloud infrastructure and services
- Define Cloud governance (policies, tagging strategies, etc)
- Create reusable modules, patterns to promote standard ways of working
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and development teams to ensure highly available, resilient, and secure solutions and optimise Cloud environments
What we’re looking for:
- A strong understanding of platform engineering - repeatable patterns and processes
- Previous experience working with Internal Developer Platforms - ideally Backstage or similar
- Product & platform operating model experience - understanding of Product Owners, value chains, PaaS to product teams
- Exposure to working in multi-cloud environments
It would be a bonus if you had:
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
- Experience working in hub-and-spoke architectures
