Senior Paralegal
Central London - Hybrid 3 days a week
Β£40,000 - Β£50,000 + Benefits
Our client is seeking a proactive, commercially minded Senior Paralegal to support its corporate legal function. Working closely with the Head of Legal, you will be a trusted first point of contact for colleagues across the business, helping manage contracts, governance, compliance and a varied range of day-to-day legal matters.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the Head of Legal with document tracking, renewals, signing processes, meetings and external advisers.
- Reviewing and drafting commercial and corporate documentation, including managing NDA negotiations.
- Conducting legal research across areas such as HR, intellectual property, regulation and corporate governance, and preparing clear internal summaries.
- Supporting the Company Secretary function through filings, board packs, meeting coordination and board minutes.
- Helping develop, monitor and audit company policies and compliance programmes, including risk assessments and remedial actions.
- Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and improving legal processes through practical technology solutions.
What we're looking for
- Experience in a corporate environment, ideally within an in-house legal team or a large law firm.
- Practical experience of commercial and corporate contracts, company law, compliance and stakeholder management; property law exposure is advantageous.
- A confident "doer" who is comfortable tackling unfamiliar tasks, applying sound judgement and working independently.
- Strong negotiation, communication, research and drafting skills.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and a solutions-focused approach.
- Confidence working with senior leaders and handling sensitive business matters.
- A law degree or legal conversion is helpful but not essential where relevant legal experience can be demonstrated.
- Previous experience in the utilities sector would be ideal, although candidates from other regulated industries will also be considered.
Why apply?
This is a high-visibility role offering broad exposure across commercial contracts, corporate governance and compliance, with direct access to senior decision-makers. You will have the opportunity to take real ownership, improve legal processes and build valuable in-house experience within a growing, fast-paced organisation
