Security Engineer - MS Defender, MS Sentinel, Azure ID/Entra ID, M365 E5 Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid - 2 Days Onsite) Contract Type: Outside IR35 Day Rate: Up to £700 per day Duration: Initial 6 Months (with potential extension) Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer to support and enhance our Microsoft security capabilities across infrastructure, cloud, identity, and business applications. This is a hands-on contract opportunity for a security professional with strong expertise across the Microsoft security stack, including Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Entra ID, and Dynamics 365. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening security operations, improving threat detection, enhancing monitoring capabilities, and securing critical business platforms. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience working as a Security Engineer, Cyber Security Engineer, or Security Operations Engineer. Strong hands-on experience with: Microsoft Defender XDR Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR) Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) Identity and Access Management (IAM) Microsoft 365 E5 Security Security monitoring and detection engineering Incident response and threat investigation Dynamics 365 (D365) security administration and monitoring Experience designing and implementing enterprise security monitoring and threat detection solutions. Strong understanding of Microsoft cloud security architecture and best practices. Experience working within Azure-based environments. Ability to operate independently and deliver security outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Skills Microsoft certifications such as: SC-200 Microsoft Security Operations Analyst SC-300 Identity and Access Administrator AZ-500 Azure Security Engineer Associate SC-100 Cybersecurity Architect PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
