A leading UK retailer is seeking a visionary Director of Technology to join its Senior Leadership Team and drive the next chapter of digital transformation. This is a fully remote opportunity for a strategic and hands-on technology leader passionate about innovation, data, engineering excellence, and retail technology.
About the Role
As the Director of Technology, you’ll shape and execute the technology roadmap in alignment with broader business objectives. You\’ll lead teams across architecture, software development, data services, operations, and cybersecurity. This is a strategic and delivery-focused role with direct influence on customer experience, ecommerce, supply chain technology, and in-store systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver a forward-thinking technology strategy aligned to business goals
- Lead enterprise architecture, engineering, and operational services across multiple platforms
- Drive digital transformation, including ecommerce and in-store tech innovation
- Oversee data strategy, governance, analytics, and cloud migration
- Ensure robust IT service management, cyber security, and business continuity
- Build and mentor high-performing cross-functional teams
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure delivery within budget and SLA targets
About you
- Proven experience in senior tech leadership roles, ideally within retail or similar sectors
- Expertise in enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, eCommerce, WMS) and cloud architecture (Azure)
- Strong background in DevOps, data strategy, and digital transformation
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and strategic planning skills
- Experience with governance frameworks, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance
