We are partnering with a large, multi-site transport organisation operating across the UK and internationally. With thousands of employees and a significant frontline workforce, the business is undertaking a major transformation programme to standardise processes, systems and governance across its operating companies.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Business Analysis Practice Lead to establish and shape the Business Analysis function during a period of significant organisational change. Working closely with senior stakeholders, programme leadership, technology teams and operational business units, you will play a pivotal role in defining how business analysis is delivered, ensuring a consistent approach to requirements gathering, process improvement, documentation and stakeholder engagement across multiple transformation initiatives.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery and will suit someone who enjoys building capability, creating structure and driving maturity within complex operational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead a Business Analysis practice, creating a clear vision, framework and roadmap for the function.
- Build and nurture a collaborative community of Business Analysts, driving capability development and knowledge sharing.
- Define and implement BA methodologies, standards, templates and documentation practices.
- Standardise business analysis processes and governance across programmes and business units.
- Line manage and mentor Business Analysts, supporting their professional development and performance.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and organisational efficiencies.
- Ensure business requirements, processes and solutions are aligned to strategic business objectives.
- Champion best practice business analysis across large-scale transformation and change programmes.
We are looking for:
- Significant experience leading or managing Business Analysis teams within large, complex organisations.
- Previous experience line managing, mentoring and developing Business Analysts.
- Proven track record of establishing or maturing a Business Analysis practice, capability or centre of excellence.
- Experience defining and embedding BA standards, governance, frameworks and documentation approaches.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior leadership level.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments where processes, governance and ways of working are still evolving.
- Experience driving business process improvement and organisational change.
- Experience gained within operationally focused organisations such as transport, logistics, retail, hospitality, aviation or other frontline workforce environments.
