We're partnering with a well-known organisation undertaking a major technology transformation and looking to hire a Chief Architect to establish and lead a new Architecture function. Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll be responsible for creating the architecture vision, defining current and target states, and building a team of architects to support an ambitious multi-year transformation programme. This role is about far more than governance and architecture diagrams. We're looking for a leader who can create capability, build credibility, and become a key member of the technology leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the enterprise Architecture function
- Define architecture strategy, governance and standards
- Create current and target-state architecture across the organisation
- Build and develop a team of 5+ architects
- Support major transformation initiatives across data, platforms and operational resilience
- Partner with senior stakeholders and executive leadership to shape technology strategy
- Build internal capability and reduce reliance on external consultancies
What we are looking for:
- Experience of building and leading an Architecture function
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate at Executive and Senior Leadership Team level
- Experience building teams, operating models and architecture capabilities
- Broad technology background rather than deep specialisation in one area
- Commercial awareness and the ability to connect technology strategy to business outcomes
- Transformation experience within complex organisations
- Experience within a regulated environment
If you're looking for an opportunity to build a function, shape technology strategy, and play a key role in a significant transformation programme, please apply!
