- 790 per day ContractSolution Architect – Inventory Management / Supply Chain DomainLondon (2-3 days per week onsite)c775/day – Outside IR35We are seeking a Solution Architect to support a major inventory management / supply chain and retail technology transformation within a FTSE 250 organisation.
The role will focus on designing and governing end-to-end inventory management / supply chain solutions across a complex, multi-brand, high-volume retail environment.Role OverviewThis is a hands-on architecture role responsible for defining and delivering solution designs across the retail supply chain, including procurement, supplier integration, inventory and stock management, warehousing, logistics, and distribution.The focus is on scalable, standardised architectures that support high-volume operations, perishable inventory considerations, and complex supplier and concession models.Key ResponsibilitiesSolution ArchitectureDesign end-to-end supply chain and inventory solutions covering supplier distribution centres retail outlets / central operationsDefine solutions supporting inventory lifecycle management, including:Shelf-life and expiry trackingBatch / lot traceabilityFood safety and regulatory compliance requirementsProduce and maintain solution architecture artefacts across assigned domains and workstreamsDefine target and transitional state architectures for supply chain capabilitiesGovernance & StandardsApply TOGAF-aligned architecture principles and contribute to enterprise architecture standardsEnsure alignment with wider enterprise architecture and target operating modelDefine and enforce architecture patterns and guardrails across supply chain systemsProvide architecture governance across delivery teams and external vendorsDelivery & TransformationSupport ERP and supply chain transformation programmes (implementation and upgrades)Work closely with delivery teams to ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements (scalability, security, resilience)Support vendor selection, RFP processes, and solution evaluationsRequired xsabvtc ExperienceEssential:Proven experience as a Solution Architect or Domain Architect within supply chain and inventory environmentsStrong background in retail environments (multi-brand, high-volume, complex operations preferred)Experience designing or delivering inventory, stock, and warehouse management solutionsExperience with ERP and supply chain platforms (e.g.
SAP S/4HANA, SAP MM/WM/EWM, SAP IBP, Oracle, or similar)Experience working in complex, global enterprise environmentsTOGAF certified (or equivalent enterprise architecture framework experience)Desirable:Experience in food retail, food service, FMCG, or perishable supply chainsPlease send your CV asap to apply for this role
