We're seeking a Supply Chain Domain Solution Architect to join a FTSE 250 organisation undergoing a major transformation under a new CIO. This is a strategic role within a significant, multi-year IT and digital transformation to modernise its supply chain, inventory, and retail technology landscape, enabling greater visibility, efficiency, and resilience across its global estate.
Role Overview
The Supply Chain Domain Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering technology solutions across end-to-end food retail supply chain. This includes procurement, supplier integration, menu and range management, inventory and stock management, warehousing and logistics. This role will focus on architecting scalable, standardised solutions that support the food retail operating model; high-volume, time-critical, perishable inventory, multiple brands, and complex partner and concession arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution & Domain Architecture
- Architect end-to-end supply chain and inventory solutions supporting food retail operations, from supplier to central kitchens, distribution centres, and retail outlets.
- Design solutions that address perishable food retail requirements, including shelf-life management, expiry control, batch/lot traceability, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Own solution architecture designs for major transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment to business strategy and operational needs.
- Define and maintain target and transitional architectures for supply chain domains.
- Enterprise Architecture & Governance
- Apply TOGAF principles and enterprise architecture standards to guide solution design and technology decisions.
- Work closely with Enterprise Architects to ensure supply chain solutions align with the broader enterprise architecture and technology roadmap.
- Establish architecture patterns, standards, and guardrails for supply chain and inventory systems.
- Transformation & Delivery
- Support large-scale IT transformation programmes, including ERP modernisation, supply chain platform upgrades, and integration of best-of-breed solutions.
- Provide architectural governance throughout delivery, ensuring solutions meet quality, security, and scalability requirements.
- Support vendor and partner selection, RFPs, and solution evaluations.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect or Domain Architect within supply chain and inventory environments.
- Strong experience architecting inventory and stock management solutions in high-volume retail or food service environments.
- Experience working in Food Retail, Food Service, Food & Beverage, Grocery, or Perishable FMCG industries.
- TOGAF certification.
- Experience with large-scale ERP and supply chain platforms (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP MM/WM/EWM, SAP IBP, Oracle, or similar).
- Experience operating within complex, global, multi-brand organisations.
