Are you a Project Manager with proven experience of delivering Workday programmes? Have you worked on large-scale transformation and transition experience, ideally in partnership with external suppliers and partners? If so, apply now for this new role.
This is a Fixed Term role for 18 months and will be based in Sunderland. There is a requirement to be onsite 3 days per week.
In this high-impact role, the Workday Transformation Project Manager will support the Programme Director in driving the end-to-end Workday transformation. You will coordinate multi-stream project delivery, ensure a strong delivery framework is in place, and oversee the smooth transition from programme deployment into a sustainable business-as-usual Workday environment.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex delivery settings, enjoys senior stakeholder engagement, and has a strong understanding of both transformation and operational HR service models.
The Workday Transformation Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Workday Programme Delivery
- Manage day-to-day delivery across functional, technical, data, integration, testing and change workstreams
- Maintain and track integrated project plans aligned to programme priorities
- Prepare materials for governance, steering committees, and decision-making forums
- Operate delivery controls including RAID logs, financial tracking, milestone reporting, and quality checks
- Coordinate testing phases and support release planning, cutover preparation, readiness activities, and deployment
- Provide operational leadership to the BAU Workday team during the transformation period
- Balance BAU service needs with project demands to maintain continuity
- Assist with knowledge transfer and capability uplift within the support team
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and handover of the future Workday support operating model
- Ensure effective handover of configuration, reporting, integrations, and documentation
- Support post-go-live stabilisation and service management setup, including KPIs and SLAs
- Act as a key delivery interface between business stakeholders, Workday SMEs, and implementation partners
- Provide clear, timely progress reporting to senior stakeholders
- Support communications relating to risks, progress, and upcoming milestones
To be successful, the Workday Transformation Project Manager will have the following experience:
- Proven experience project managing Workday programmes
- Strong project management experience across multi-stream delivery environments
- Experience supporting senior leaders through major transformations
- Strong understanding of BAU operations and service transition
- Any experience of working with Workday SIs would be a bonus
- Experience of Workday modules or functional experience would also be a benefit
