We're supporting a large, regulated organisation as they strengthen their second-line technology risk function. This is a high-impact role with significant exposure to senior leadership, offering the opportunity to operate as a number two to the Head of Risk and play a key part in shaping risk strategy during a period of transformation.
You will take ownership of technology risk across a broad landscape, including cyber, operational resilience, data, third-party risk, and change/transformation initiatives. This is a strategic and outward-facing position, requiring strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate complex technical risks into clear, concise insights for executive audiences.
- Lead second-line oversight across technology risk domains (cyber, data, operational resilience, third-party, transformation)
- Partner with senior stakeholders across the business, including executive leadership
- Provide independent risk challenge and deliver clear, board-level risk opinions
- Support the development and evolution of risk frameworks and practices
- Act as a deputy to the Head of Risk, with potential for future succession
Proven experience in a technology risk / operational risk role within a regulated environment (PRA preferred). Strong understanding of frameworks such as NIST and PRA supervisory standards (e.g. operational resilience, third-party risk, incident reporting). Broad exposure across multiple risk domains - not siloed in a single area. Strategic mindset with the ability to connect technical detail to business impact.
