About The Role
At TRI, our mission is to make Risk-Based Quality Management (RBQM) simple; making it accessible, understandable, and actionable for clinical trials of any scale and complexity. We develop innovative technologies and simplified solutions to empower research organizations and sponsors, ensuring the highest standards of trial integrity and participant safety. TRI is heading into an exciting time within the business where we are laying the foundations for a Series B funding round in 2027. As part of our growth strategy, we are recruiting for a Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) who will be accountable for TRI’s commercial performance and go-to-market strategy, establishing TRI as a thought leader and provider of best in class software in the RBQM space across the globe.
The CCO will lead the Sales and Marketing operations to deliver recurring revenue and new business growth through effective execution, data-led decision making, and disciplined funnel management. We are looking for someone based in the UK or USA (East Coast: Boston/Carolina/Philadelphia) who has a wealth of experience in scaling up commercial GTM high-growth, investor-backed SaaS businesses with a strong understanding of market segmentation, go-to-market strategy, and account-based selling, ideally with a background in clinical systems and selling to Sponsor, Biotech and CRO organisations.
Your Skills & Qualifications
- Commercial Strategy and Leadership
- Define and deliver the commercial strategy aligned to TRI’s growth objectives and value creation plan.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, revenue targets, and measurable KPIs.
- Sales Execution and Account Management
- Develop and execute a long-term growth strategy by identifying new opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, and driving initiatives that position the company to generate new revenue streams.
- Drive disciplined management of the full sales funnel, ensuring conversion metrics, forecasting accuracy, and consistent pipeline visibility.
- Establish structured account plans for key customers to drive retention, expansion, and upsell.
- Develop and maintain commercial performance dashboards tracking key indicators such as ARR, NRR, pipeline ratios, win rates, LTV:CAC, and Rule of 40.
- Marketing and Demand Generation
- Work with the Head of Marketing to continue building an integrated marketing strategy that supports the go-to-market plan, driving awareness, lead generation, and conversion.
- Position TRI as a thought leader in data-driven clinical trials through targeted campaigns, content, and events.
- Sales Operations and Data Insight
- Build a strong sales operations function responsible for data integrity, CRM governance, and pipeline analytics.
- Introduce a data-driven rhythm of business with regular KPI reviews and action tracking.
- Pricing, Contracts and Governance
- Oversee development of scalable pricing models and contract frameworks that support profitable growth.
- Ensure commercial proposals balance competitiveness, customer value, and profitability, with CEO and CFO approval on final pricing.
- Maintain oversight of customer contracts, renewals, and terms to ensure compliance and protect commercial interests.
Qualifications (Additional)
- Proven track record as a CCO, VP Sales, or Commercial Director within a SaaS, life sciences, or data-driven technology environment.
- Demonstrated success scaling commercial teams in high-growth, investor-backed businesses.
- Strong understanding of market segmentation, go-to-market strategy, and account-based selling.
- Highly fluent in commercial analytics, CRM systems, and recurring revenue metrics.
- Data-driven mindset with a structured approach to performance management and decision making.
- Collaborative and board-ready communicator, able to align commercial objectives with company strategy.

- Salary: up to £150k base + OTE Depending on Performance
