The Opportunity
This is a hands‑on Senior Management Accountant role with ownership of month‑end reporting, management accounts, and financial insight across a defined portfolio within the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of accurate, timely monthly management accounts
- Preparation of P&L and balance sheet reporting for defined business units
- Delivery of clear variance analysis and insightful commentary to senior stakeholders
- Tight cost control and support of strong financial governance
- Full responsibility for journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support statutory reporting and year‑end processes
- Resolve complex accounting matters with confidence
- Act as a trusted finance partner to operational and commercial stakeholders
- Provide ad‑hoc analysis to support decision‑making, investment cases and cost initiatives
- Support budgeting, forecasting and re‑forecasting cycles
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting quality, controls and efficiency
- Support the finance integration of newly acquired entities
- Contribute to the ongoing development of systems, processes and reporting standards
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong management accounting and month‑end experience
- Able to translate financial data into clear, meaningful insight
- Confident communicator with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, change‑driven environment
- Experience in a multi‑site, PE‑backed or acquisitive business
- Exposure to operational, consumer services or regulated environments
- Track record of improving finance processes or supporting business change
