As a HMO Housing Support Officer you will play a vital role in helping people manage their day to day living to move towards greater independence. We are searching for a compassionate and resilient support officer to join this team.

The role will see you supporting across a couple of HMOs in Luton and Bedfordshire. Based out of head office Luton, you will travel to site as and when required. You will provide practical and compassionate advice to residents, supporting with housing related concerns and coaching them to support with more independent living. The role is varied; no day is ever the same and as such you need to be able to think on your feet and adapt to sometimes challenging situations.

The role:

  • Support with managing day to day living - managing finances, shopping, cooking, job searching
  • Coach towards more independent living with managing tenancies, utilities, benefits etc
  • Complete risk assessments and create supportive plans
  • Carry out regular, face to face welfare checks and property visits to ensure basic health and safety
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Manage your own portfolio of properties and clients

The ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience working within social care, community services, supported housing is ideal although not essential
  • Compassionate and resilient
  • Excellent communicator and able to manage challenging situations
  • Basic knowledge of IT
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential
  • Full UK working rights - sponsorship is not available

The role is a permanent, full time opportunity. Monday to Friday, although there may be some unsociable hours from time to time. With excellent benefits, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to work within a valued and supportive team.
