A leading specialist Dental Practice based in Norwich is currently looking for a permanent Dental Nurse.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

  • The post holder will provide comprehensive service to the practice, and deal with all patients sensitively and appropriately, communicate effectively with all personnel and effectively schedule patients to ensure best use of practitioners’ time.
  • This position is to complement a team of TEN dental nurses providing support for five surgeries.
  • Provide full and comprehensive chair side duties dealing with general and complex treatment.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilising instruments and moving equipment into place.
  • Provide support to dentists and team members as needed.
  • Prevent the spread of infection and disease by maintaining a surgically clean work environment following the guidelines as set in HTM 01-05.
  • Complete necessary daily checklists & maintain surgery supplies and replenish as necessary.
  • Ensure that knowledge is updated regularly.
  • Ensure all infection control protocols and policies are adhered to.
  • Ensure that you are familiar with the document HTM 01-05.
  • Ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained in respect of personal information in accordance with practice policies and statutory legislation.
  • Attend sessions where appropriate for statutory and mandatory training.
  • Seek opportunities to develop skills and understanding that will enhance own performance in the role.
  • Provide up to date CPD logs when requested.
  • Health & Safety - ensure your own and that of others health and safety and that all areas in the dental waiting area are clear, signs are relevant and displayed correctly. Hazard spotting for staff and patients.

The role pays between £15-18ph depending on experience. Hrs of work 8.15am-5pm Monday to Friday with some occasional Saturdays.

Benefits:

  • GDC registration and Indemnity paid for by the practice.
  • Additional holiday of 4 days (pro rata) to be taken over Christmas holiday, plus standard 20 days holidays and bank holidays off.
  • Birthday day off.
  • CPD/Training provider paid for by practice.
  • Further training provided as appropriate to the role (e.g. radiography).

Essential requirements:

  • Must be a qualified dental nurse with GDC registration with experience in a general or specialist practice.
  • Must be able to work in Norwich.
  • Excellent communication skills.
