We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join this expanding practice based in Kettering. The position is office based but will require travel in/around Northamptonshire to meet with new and existing clients. The ideal candidate will have previous practice experience and have some experience of audit although not essential as further training and development is available.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of business accounts and corporation tax.
- Liaise with clients to gather all relevant information for tax/accounting purposes.
- Be on hold to deal with any client queries as and when they arise and respond accordingly.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare VAT returns.
- Utilise accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, Xero, and QuickBooks for daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Financial statement audits.
- Manage/mentor junior accountants.
Experience:
- Previous experience working within practice.
- Knowledge of all areas of accounting, taxation and statutory compliance.
- Audit experience is an advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software including Sage, PeopleSoft, Xero, and QuickBooks is highly desirable.
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Driving licence and access to own vehicle.
