The Role
Reporting to the CTO, the Director of Software Engineering, will lead globally distributed software engineering teams at TRG Screen, building a high-performance culture of operational excellence while scaling engineering operations to meet evolving business goals. This role is responsible for shaping the engineering strategy, optimizing development processes, and providing technical leadership to guide architecture platform modernization to deliver secure, reliable, scalable solutions. The Director will establish KPI-driven metrics and champion AI-powered code-generation tools to elevate productivity, spark innovation, and fuel continuous improvement.
The Director will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business goals, ensuring continuous improvement and the successful execution of TRG Screens Technology roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate short and long-term engineering strategy aligned with business objectives and product strategy
- Standardize and continuously improve engineering processes for velocity and cross-functional alignment; set, track, and act on engineering KPIs to achieve predictable, high-quality delivery outcomes
- Advance platform modernization and technical debt remediation by providing decisive technical leadership and strategic architectural direction
- Lead the migration and transition to cloud hosting infrastructure, balancing security, performance, and cost
- Deliver high-quality software by expanding test automation capabilities and test-driven design principles
- Drive adoption of AI code generation and AI-powered tooling across the Software Development Lifecycle to accelerate innovation
- Work cross functionally, in partnership with other departments across the organization, including Customer Success and Managed Services
Skills And Qualifications
- A seasoned engineering leader with 15+ years of experience, including 7+ years in senior leadership roles
- Deep expertise in designing and scaling systems, with a strong background in software development and modern architectures (microservice, cloud-native, event driven, domain-driving design, etc.)
- Strong data-driven management of KPIs, budgeting, capacity planning, and head-count allocation
- Proven ability to manage large, distributed engineering teams across multiple geographies, including the UK, US, and India
- Advanced experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and large-scale legacy-to-cloud migration programs
- Proven record implementing DevOps / CloudOps practices, including IaC, autmation, and observability
- Hands-on experience with AI code-generation tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor.io, Windsurf, Devin)
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, translating technical strategy into measurable business impact; Able to work effectively with international leadership teams

- Experience leading in regulated domains (fintech, healthcare, government) with rigorous compliance standards
- Track record scaling engineering in both hyper-growth startups and mature enterprises
