We’re working with a fast-moving team that’s building high-performance data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. They’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help design, implement, and optimise scalable pipelines while supporting both data and product teams with reliable, secure, and efficient systems.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Designing and implementing scalable data pipelines using BigQuery and other GCP tools
  • Developing and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows for transforming and aggregating data
  • Optimising database performance for cost-effective, efficient querying
  • Collaborating with analysts, scientists, and engineers on analytics and product use cases
  • Automating workflows and monitoring pipeline performance
  • Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a strong engineering culture

What You Need:

  • Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale datasets
  • Hands-on experience with BigQuery and GCP tools like Dataflow, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub
  • Deep knowledge of query optimisation and performance tuning
  • Proven experience with ETL/ELT design and data modelling best practices
  • A collaborative mindset and solid communication skills
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior team members

This is an outside IR35 contract, so you must be UK-based.
