The purpose of this role is to own the site FSMS: supplier assurance, HACCP/TACCP leadership, PRP validation, hygiene audit programmes, COP implementation, and internal audit closure ensuring robust compliance to BRCGS and retailer standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier approval management: Risk assessment, onboarding, ongoing compliance and performance.
- Customer COP implementation: Translate COP changes into SOPs, training, effectiveness checks; embed into factory practice.
- Ongoing GAP analysis.
- CCP & PRP audits: Design, conduct, and close out CCP/PRP audits with effective CAPA.
- HACCP & TACCP lead: Maintain plans, verification, and periodic review; lead site food defence.
- Independent hygiene audits & CIC: Drive improvements for manual clean processes; validate hygiene methods.
- Internal audit programme: Own scheduling and execution; ensure robust close-out of NCs and recurrence prevention.
- Customer audit support: Prepare, represent the site, and manage close-out.
- Non-conformance process oversight: Root cause quality (5-Whys/Ishikawa) and effectiveness checks.
- Site activity risk assessments: Maintain and review task/process risk assessments.
- On-call duty: One weekend in three.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years QA/Technical; strong audit leadership; retailer codes.
- HACCP Level 4; TACCP/VACCP training; Food Safety Level 4; Lead Auditor preferred.
