We are currently partnering with a London-based listed business to hire a fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) into a Junior Financial Controller / Finance Lead position. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing, early-stage PLC, where you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function in a lean environment, working closely with senior leadership and external advisors.
The Role
This position will act as the owner of the finance function, with responsibility for financial reporting, controls, and compliance. You will work directly with the Finance Director and senior stakeholders, gaining strong exposure across the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining accurate financial records and books
- Producing monthly management accounts
- Supporting the preparation of interim and annual reports
- Ensuring compliance with listed company (PLC) financial and reporting requirements
- Coordinating audits and managing external advisors
- Preparing and supporting board reporting and materials
- Acting as the go-to person for finance queries internally
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) – essential
- Background in audit, accounts preparation, or a small finance function
- Strong understanding of financial statements and reporting processes
- Comfortable taking ownership in a standalone or lean environment
