We're currently working with a Big 4 consultancy that is delivering a high-profile project for a tier 1 investment bank. As part of this engagement, they're hiring for multiple positions at VP and Director level, focused on Risk Assurance related to regulatory capital, liquidity, and RWA compliance. These roles sit within the 2nd Line of Defence (2LOD), supporting the assurance of compliance with Laws, Rules and Regulations (LRRs) related to Own Funds, Eligible Liabilities, and all RWA risk types.

Purpose: Lead and support assurance activities for regulatory compliance across capital and liquidity rule requirements, acting as a central point of expertise for Risk stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide critical review and challenge of rule compliance assessments and documentation.
  • Assess regulatory rule interpretations and propose appropriate treatments aligned with Basel III and CRD IV/CRR frameworks.
  • Liaise closely with Finance and Treasury functions to ensure robust governance and assurance across reporting and control.
  • Represent Risk Assurance in management committees and other key stakeholder forums.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for complex transactions and their regulatory treatment.

Ideal Profile:

  • 12+ years’ experience across banking, regulatory bodies, or professional services.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Basel III, CRR, and related EU/UK prudential frameworks.
  • Strong ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders and regulatory experts.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial controls and governance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide risk functional expertise across areas such as Credit Risk (Secured/Unsecured), Market Risk, CVA, and Counterparty Credit Risk.
  • Interpret CRR, PRA rulebook, and supervisory statements to support accurate regulatory reporting.
  • Conduct risk assessments, documentation reviews, and contribute to developing and maintaining strong control frameworks.
  • Coordinate across multiple teams to track and deliver project milestones.
  • Communicate complex regulatory concepts clearly across business and technical stakeholders.

Ideal Profile:

  • Solid experience in risk management, audit, compliance, or controls.
  • Proven ability to handle complex data sets and documentation standards.
  • Strong multitasking, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination skills.
