Pay: £13.75-£21.51 per hour

£2,000 Signing Bonus

The role entails MIG welding and dressing at a level of quality suitable for high end powder coat finishing. TIG skills are advantageous. 33% additional rate for nights - 4x12 Mon-Thur.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure jobs are welded as required by the job sheet/drawings.
  • Work within the determined times provided whilst ensuring a high-quality finish is maintained.
  • Reporting any discrepancies to line supervisor.
  • Dress/finish off parts to the standard required for each job – selecting the correct tools and abrasive pads.
  • Inspect work-to drawings, be vigilant on quality and always query any doubts with your supervisor.
  • Ensure quantities are adhered to and take care with product counts.
  • Adhere to health and safety requirements and the safe operation of welding machines and tools.
  • Always wear supplied and appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Work a reasonable amount of overtime when requested.
  • Attend work on the shift times established by the employer and without excessive absenteeism or lateness.
  • Arrive and be ready to work at the time your shift starts.

Key Skills:

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure.
  • Ability to demonstrate the proper application of common welding processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and associated welding symbols/descriptions.
  • Knowledge of materials and their weld characteristics.
  • Knowledge of weld safety standards.
  • Knowledge of weld inspection.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment, including tapes, digital callipers, and squares.
  • Ability to converse in English.
