We are recruiting for an experienced Clerk of Works to join a leading national Facilities Management provider overseeing a programme of refurbishment and lifecycle projects across multiple live education sites in Peterborough.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clerk of Works with a strong background in quality assurance, inspections and construction compliance.
You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered to the required specification, quality standards and programme during a busy summer delivery period.
The Role
You will oversee a range of refurbishment and capital works taking place simultaneously across multiple sites, including:
- Air Handling Unit (AHU) replacements
- Roofing and rooflight replacement works
- Internal and external redecoration
- Bathroom refurbishments
- Vinyl and carpet tile flooring replacements
- Fire door replacement works
You will carry out regular site inspections, monitor workmanship and materials, identify defects, ensure compliance with specifications and report on project progress throughout the programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out quality inspections throughout all stages of construction works.
- Monitor workmanship, materials and installation standards.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with specifications, drawings and industry regulations.
- Identify defects, non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Produce detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate site records.
- Liaise with Project Managers, contractors and client representatives.
- Monitor progress across multiple sites to ensure works remain on programme.
- Ensure health & safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Support successful project completion and handover.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Clerk of Works, Site Inspector or Quality Inspector.
- Strong knowledge of refurbishment, fit-out and building fabric projects.
- Candidates should ideally have a clerk of works qualification obtained either through the ICWCI or CIOB.
- Worked on PFI contracts
- Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
