Working for an established civil and construction company, the Document Controller will support one or more projects from site offices near Havant.
Responsibilities include:
- Work to & within the company procedures, policies & regularly communicate with your line manager.
- Undertake validation of documents in accordance with BS 19650 file naming protocols and BEP requirements.
- Upload and issue documentation in line with project workflows and agreed processes.
- Support the Project Data Manager by coordinating workflows and reporting on dashboard statistics.
- Provide a document register of MIDP and TIDP documentation.
- Manage the MIDP and create placeholders, etc. where required.
- Provide training and support in the use of the CDE.
- Promote the benefits of the CDE.
- Work closely with design and delivery teams to ensure best practice and innovation is adopted within the project.
- Promote best practice identified on projects where the project team are forward thinking and cascade across other projects.
- Identify where new software and developments within existing systems can benefit the business and review with colleagues.
- Knowledge of QHSE whilst working on site.
- Extending & promoting the use of the system to suppliers, clients & sub-contractors, through training & demonstration.
- Keep up to date with advancements in digital technology and new software.
Skills & Knowledge:
- A thorough understanding of software systems used for information and construction management, ideally within the construction industry.
Experience:
- Experience of using various CDE software systems, preferably within the construction industry (previous use of Bim 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud desirable).
- Knowledge of B.I.M processes and their practical application within a contracting environment (Desirable).
- Training and presentation skills (Required).
Technology skills:
- IT Microsoft Office skills - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
