We are recruiting a Mobile Electrical Engineer to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of commercial buildings throughout Leeds, Bradford, York and the surrounding areas. This is a maintenance-biased role with some installation works, ideal for an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in commercial building services. The position is mobile and client-facing, requiring a proactive, professional engineer who can work independently and manage their own workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out PPM and reactive electrical maintenance across commercial premises
- Fault finding and repair on a wide range of electrical systems
- Undertake minor installation works as required
- Electrical testing and completion of certification and compliance documentation
- Complete Method Statements and Risk Assessments for works undertaken
- Update and close PPM/reactive tasks via the CAFM system
- Maintain site logbooks and statutory records
- Identify remedial works and produce clear, accurate quotations
- Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
- Participate in out-of-hours call-out and emergency response when required
- Liaise professionally with site stakeholders and management teams
- Support other trades where required
Systems & Tasks Include
- Emergency and non-emergency lighting
- Fire alarm testing
- Distribution boards, RCD/RCBO testing
- Fixed wire testing
- Door entry and automatic door systems
- BMS and heating controls fault finding
- Immersion and instantaneous water heaters
- Socket outlets, lighting, wiring repairs
- Fan coil units, AHU filter changes and basic servicing
- General electrical PPM inspections and functional testing
Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- C&G Level 2 & 3 Electrical Installation
- C&G 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or 2330 Levels 2 & 3
- C&G 2391 or 2394/2395
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Strong experience within commercial electrical maintenance
- Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets and CAFM systems
Desirable:
- Basic mechanical knowledge (heating / air conditioning awareness)
- Basic plumbing, carpentry or fabric repair experience
- IPAF 3a & 3b
- PASMA
Working Pattern
Monday to Friday, flexible working required, participation in out-of-hours call-out rota, evenings and weekends as required.
