Trevett Services are recruiting a Data Centre Technician to join a site-based engineering team supporting a Critical Environment / Data Centre in Northolt. The role involves delivering planned and reactive maintenance across M&E systems, contractor supervision, and critical services support, ensuring compliance with strict SLA, safety, and operational requirements. This position offers strong development opportunities, including progression to Authorised Person (AP) status.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive, and ad-hoc maintenance across M&E services
- Complete work orders within agreed SLAs and customer satisfaction targets
- Maintain accurate maintenance records via site CMMS systems
- Progress to and operate as an Authorised Person (AP) within agreed timeframes
- Carry out authorised isolations and reinstatements on electrical and life-safety systems
- Issue and manage Permit to Work systems
- Supervise and escort subcontractors, ensuring compliance with site safety and security procedures
- Monitor and maintain critical services and environmental conditions
- Carry out plant and equipment condition assessments
- Identify, log, and escalate defects, incidents, and out-of-line conditions
- Update technical documentation, reports, and infrastructure records
- Support project and additional works, including quotations and material sourcing
- Maintain effective communication with the client and site management team
- Provide shift cover for holidays, sickness, and training when required
- Ensure all works comply with site procedures, SLAs, and health & safety requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- Experience within a Critical Environment or Data Centre
- Strong understanding of Permit to Work systems and safe systems of work
- Ability to work independently and within mixed-skill teams
- Good communication and customer service skills
Desirable:
- Authorised Person (AP) or working towards HV Authorised Person experience
- IOSH or formal Health & Safety training
- Experience with UPS, generators, BMS, PDUs, and standby power systems
- Basic PC literacy (CMMS, Excel, Word, Outlook)
