We are supporting a leading UK energy and engineering specialist delivering complex mechanical works within a live healthcare estate. This is a freelance opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a critical project in Shrewsbury, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery throughout.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of mechanical works on site, coordinating labour and subcontractors while working closely with the wider project team in a live hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise mechanical operatives and subcontractors on site
- Coordinate daily activities to meet programme and quality requirements
- Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and RAMS
- Maintain strict health & safety standards in a live healthcare setting
- Liaise with the Project Manager, site teams, and hospital stakeholders
- Oversee quality control, snagging, and support testing & commissioning
- Manage materials, deliveries, and site logistics
What Weβre Looking For
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor on construction or energy projects
- Strong background in HVAC, pipework, plant rooms, or mechanical installations
- Experience working in live environments (healthcare highly desirable)
- Confident managing labour, subcontractors, and site activities
- SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS, and relevant mechanical qualifications
