For Trevellyan, this role directly affects the sales performance and profitability of the business unit as it is wholly responsible for the renewal of existing clients' commercial insurance. The Account Handler must be commercially minded and learn about commercial insurance from an advisory position; it is also their responsibility to renew a minimum of 95% of the existing policies. Understanding the renewal and new business process is essential.

The Account Handler will be responsible for targets and KPIs by working closely with colleagues and management to ensure that all actions taken fully support the business operational requirements in line with company brand & vision, policies, code of conduct & organisational culture.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards
  • Ensure the new business and renewal processes are followed and understood.
  • Ensure all customers receive 30, 60, and 90-day calls and support with their renewal.
  • Create quotes for all renewals/new business quotes in line with FCA treating customers fairly.
  • Consistently use the CRM system to diary reminders to call people and update details of existing/new clients.
  • Complete health checks on all current clients.
  • Hold “Close Meetings” with your Broker/Account Handler to discuss the strategy required to close the sale and role-play it.
  • Complete fact finds with all required information and create a comprehensive in-house industry-specific Fact Find questionnaire.
  • Broker the clients' renewal/new business quote as per the Premium Guide.
  • Where feasible, quote the renewal/new business quote with additional broker fees to maximize the company profit.
  • Close the sale & take payment from the customer where needed.

Minimum Qualifications/Education/Experience/Training/Knowledge
  • Qualifications and Education: CII preferred.
  • Experience (Years & Type): 3 years +.
  • Training: Broker Assess.
  • Knowledge: Wide range of Commercial Insurance Markets.
