Role Description
We have an opportunity for a thorough and committed individual who has technical design skills to join our team in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. We are looking for an experienced CAD designer and Programmer with a range of skills:
- Good communication and CAD drawing skills.
- Good understanding of furniture production and materials.
- Competent user of SolidWorks.
- Experience with CNC programming, ideally using SWOOD or SolidCam (previous experience with similar CAM tools such as Mastercam, Alphacam etc will be transferable).
- Ability to manage information and work across simultaneous tasks.
- Team player, looking for opportunities to work with others and improve our business performance.
- Accurate and thorough, with a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Consideration of client needs within review of detailed drawings with sales staff.
- Produce 3D models and clear accurate production drawings for the workshop.
- Generate cutting list and bill of materials.
- Review models with workshop to generate continuous improvements.
- Generate CNC CAM programs using SWOOD and SolidCam up to 5 Axis level from the 3D models for both sheet nesting and individual part machining.
- Research and ensure any bought-in components work with the design.
- Ensure efficient use of materials and time.
- Provide purchase order requirements for bought-in goods within the projects.
- Closely work with other members of the team to ensure delivery and installation deadlines are met.
Job Details
Job Type: Full time, Permanent, office based 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, with customer and site visits.
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience + benefits, and opportunities for development.
