Joining our team as a Calibration Engineer you will perform calibration of customer equipment using approved procedures and good Metrology practice. Calibrating dimensional instrumentation from hand tools to attribute torque, gauges, and weighing scales.
Develop measurement uncertainty budgets for customer calibrations and maintain relevant records of work, data and results in a traceable and auditable manner utilizing EMS management systems and participate in UKAS and customer surveillance and accreditation audits.
About the Role:
- Calibration of measuring instrumentation to National/Global standards including AMS2750, ISO/IEC 17025 and UKAS accreditation
- Manage calibration scheduling and liaising with customers (essential)
- Endeavour to complete all calibrations by the associated calibration due dates.
- Documenting and inputting data/results into computer
- Create/update calibration certificates
- Maintain the calibration database and filing system
- Advise and communicate technical knowledge to customer when required
- Assist with on the job training when required
- Assist in the development and improvement of calibration procedures

Requirements:
- Perform other in-house laboratory support functions as required
- Participate in Interlaboratory measurement audits
- Participate in internal/external audits as required by the Trescal Quality Manager within the customer/Trescal facility.
- Ensure that mandatory and legislative QHSE aspects of work are implemented at all times
- Occasionally you may be required to perform other tasks which are not included in the above description, but are within the capabilities of the individual and where necessary training will be given.
Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Understanding of electrical safety is highly advantageous
- Understanding of high-pressure systems safety precautions is highly advantageous
- Previous calibration experience within instrumentation
- Previous experience adhering to National/Global standards including AMS2750, ISO/IEC 17025 and UKAS accreditation
- Experience in one or more of the following equipment types will be advantageous: Dimensional hand tools, Digital and analogue measuring devices such as Multimeters, Power Supplies, Timers, Pressure Gauges, Temperature controllers, Recorders, Torque Wrenches / Drivers
- Must be PC literate with knowledge in Windows-based software
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision
- The ability to understand/interpret circuit diagrams will be advantageous
- Experience of working within a technical trade and customer focused environment
- Relevant qualifications within an engineering discipline will be advantageous
