In the Strategic Partnerships role, your primary responsibility will be to advance TreQ’s most important partnerships and business development opportunities. You will partner directly with the CEO to shape opportunities, prepare for engagements, and drive follow-through so that each key relationship progresses with clear intent. You collaborate across engineering and external partners, acting as a thinking partner in assessing opportunities, informing decisions, stewarding relationships, and maintaining momentum.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and advance priority business development opportunities by assessing readiness, identifying gaps, and preparing each engagement for meaningful progress—including redirecting deals that are not yet ready.
  • Develop key strategic partnerships by strengthening relationships, aligning stakeholders, and maintaining momentum.
  • Drive follow-through across deals and partnerships, ensuring clear next steps, consistent communication, and disciplined progress tracking.
  • Develop concise, engagement-ready materials (briefs, emails, proposals, stakeholder maps) that reflect CEO intent and move conversations forward.

You might be a fit if you know about:

  • How complex deals and partnerships move forward.
  • How technical, commercial, and organizational factors interact.
  • Stakeholder dynamics, decision authority, and how influence works across organizations.
  • The difference between a promising idea and a viable opportunity.
  • How deep-tech products (hardware, infrastructure, or advanced computing) are evaluated, funded, and adopted particularly through pilots, partnerships, or government programs.

You have these skills and abilities:

  • Communicate clearly and comfortably with both engineers and executives.
  • Translate conversations into next steps, materials, and action.
  • Write concise, high-quality emails, briefs, and proposals that require minimal revision.
  • Identify what matters and filter out noise.
  • Maintain momentum across multiple opportunities without losing track of detail.
  • Quickly understand how others assess opportunities and adapt your approach accordingly.

You’ve had experiences like these:

  • Supporting or shaping complex deals, partnerships, or programs where outcomes were not predefined.
  • Working closely with a senior leader to help them operate more effectively.
  • Contributing to go-to-market, partnerships, or deal development for a deep-tech, infrastructure, or technical product, especially in pre-commercial markets.
  • Preparing materials that influenced customers or accelerated progress.
  • Coordinating across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Turning conversations into action.
  • Being trusted with context and operating with discretion.
  • Operating in environments without playbooks or quotas.
  • Seeing patterns across opportunities and implementing learnings.
  • Working at the technological frontier where markets are still forming.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in engineering, physics, or another technical field, or an MBA with exposure to technical industries.
  • Experience in deep-tech, infrastructure, or early-stage companies, particularly those working with emerging technology.
  • Familiarity with long-cycle sales, government-funded programs, or multi-stakeholder partnerships.

For this role you need not:

  • Come from a traditional business development or sales background.
  • Have followed a traditional or linear career path.

If TreQ’s mission excites you but your experience doesn’t match every qualification listed, we still encourage you to apply.
