Admin Assistant (Trent Compassion)

Hours: 22.50 hours per week (0.6 FTE)


Days: Monday to Friday, hours can be worked over 3 or 4 days per week


Contract: Permanent


Salary: £25,210 per annum, pro rata based on full-time hours of 37.50 per week. Monthly salary based on 22.50 hours per week is £1,260.50 before deductions.


Overview of role:
The post holder will provide administrative support across Trent Compassion in particular to support the Trent Compassion lead with administrative tasks as required. This is a varied role requiring discretion, initiative, and the ability to work across multiple teams.


Key Responsibilities:
General responsibilities:



  • To support the Trent Compassion lead with administrative tasks as required.

  • To attend regular and occasional meetings, including occasional evenings.

  • To support line manager and wider team as required and to take on new areas of responsibility at their request.

  • To be an ambassador for Trent Vineyard and Trent Compassion.


Specific Duties include:



  • Supporting Compassion lead with tasks including booking & following up from meetings, drafting reports to external funders and admin related to our overseas connections.

  • Checking stocks and ordering Soup Run, Arches & other supplies as needed.

  • Supporting the organising and running of Compassion events and internal meetings.

  • Supporting the Attic lead by helping organise workshops, prepare for fayres and other various tasks as required.

  • Use of our databases to administrate functional tasks.

  • Administration of our TCT internal room bookings as per current guidelines.

  • Making spaces ready for meetings, complying with relevant guidance.

  • Supporting with Trent Compassion social media and general comms.

  • Practical tasks such as stocking offices, liaising with Trent Vineyard for supplies as needed.

  • Undertake the role of Arches staff link occasionally as required, ensuring the welfare and safety of staff, volunteers and visitors.

  • To take on additional tasks at the request of the line manager.


Other requirements



  • Demonstrate an understanding of, and a commitment to respect and support, the vision, values, hallmarks, beliefs and ethos of Trent Vineyard and conduct yourself in a way that is consistent with and supportive of these in your role.

  • Willing to submit to a DBS check, if required for the role.



  • Willing to work some evenings and weekends to facilitate ministry-related events, if required.

  • Be discrete, sensitive and trustworthy

  • A love of admin with good attention to detail

  • Be highly organised and forward thinking

  • Be approachable and a good communicator

  • Have the ability to carry out different tasks across a broad spectrum of ministries

  • Be computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media

  • Be able to work to deadlines

  • Proficiency in written English, an ability to communicate in a professional manner
