To install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring in Trent & Dove Housing’s properties whilst ensuring that work is in accordance with relevant regulations and with all technical standards. As well as taking ownership of work and aiming for:
- First Time Fix on all jobs
- Fixed within budget and time parameters
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install electrical systems to 18th edition wiring regulations, including installing electric heating and cooling systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service and answer any customer questions.
- Work safely and in compliance with Trent and Dove health & safety requirements and regulations.
- Carry out electrical repairs and replacements.
- Comply with all relevant statutory procedures including the preparation of risk assessments, method statements and construction safety plans.
- Participate in an out of hours service where required.
- Undertake any training or qualification which the company considers necessary to improve working performance and maintain legally required qualifications.
- Ensure full compliance with all legal requirements of electrical work.
- Keep all items supplied by the company in good working order.
- Advise the Supervisor of any stock requirements.
- Carry out inspections of properties as instructed by the Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Ensure that the repairs service is carried out in line with the Association’s Repairs and Maintenance Policy.
- Adhere to Trent & Dove Housing’s policies and practices regarding confidentiality at all times.
- Undertake any other additional duties commensurate with the role and pay grade of an Electrician.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Commit to the health, safety and well-being of colleagues, customers and partners and support the aims and objectives of the Company’s Health & Safety Policy.
- Co-operate with the company on health & safety matters by following agreed safe working procedures, using safeguards appropriately, attending health & safety training and reporting all hazards, near misses and unsafe conditions.
Person Specification
- Proven ability as an Electrician.
- Provision of excellent customer service.
- Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with residents and team members.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships.
- Ability to carry out multi trade tasks (minor plumbing, plastering and tiling etc).
- Experience of portable appliance testing.
Education and Qualifications
- NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installation or Equivalent.
- GCSE’s in Maths and English.
- Possess working knowledge of IEE regulations, City & Guilds 2360 and 2382 qualifications, and inspection and testing certificate (2391).
- Demonstrate familiarity with NICEIC requirements.
- Unvented hot water qualification.
- Inspection and testing qualification.
- ECS grading card.
