The team: The Area Caretaking team are based in Burton upon Trent and work together to keep all our areas and public spaces clean, safe and a pleasant space for all. This hands-on role involves: * Working together as a team and being outside in all weathers. * Using a variety of tools and equipment to carry out tasks such as conducting litter picks, removal of fly tipped waste, clearance of leaves and moss from pathways, gritting and snow clearance, hedge cutting, shrubbery maintenance and garden clearances. * The management, maintenance and cleaning of refuse areas. * Producing dynamic risk management and unplanned risk management documentation. * Carrying out regular checks, inspections and maintenance of equipment; including hand and power tools, personal protective equipment and vehicles. * Communicating with customers, partners, members of the public and colleagues. Experience/skills required * You should have the necessary practical ability and an understanding in environmental awareness as well as a hands-on approach. * An understanding of site health and safety requirements and COSHH would be advantage * Literacy and numeracy skills are required. * Competent in using IT devices, such as a smart phone, and willing to learn our in-house systems. * Have a full driving licence.
