We are seeking a Fire Safety Project Officer to assist the competent person in fire safety matters under relevant legislation and support the lead office on fire safety initiatives.

Location: Bedford (Hybrid)

Salary: £43,500 including car allowance

Type: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week)

Job Overview

You will work closely with and support the Building Safety Manager, Fire Safety Project Manager, and Fire Safety Officers to ensure compliance with legal obligations across all buildings. Your role involves engaging with internal and external stakeholders to promote fire safety awareness and improve safety standards through various projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plan and execute Fire Safety projects, ensuring performance targets are met.
2. Ensure all projects adhere to cost, time, and quality expectations.
3. Recommend fire safety measures and provide guidance to managers, employees, contractors, and partners.
4. Promote fire safety awareness among residents and propose risk reduction measures.
5. Develop and deliver fire safety training on legislation and best practices.
6. Collaborate with the Building Safety Manager and team across all buildings.

Candidate Requirements

• Extensive experience in fire safety enforcement or risk assessment, including auditing fire risk assessments in housing properties.
• Deep understanding of fire safety legislation, codes, and guidance.
• Experience managing contracts.
• Knowledge of health and safety in construction.
• Fire Risk Assessment Qualification.
