We are looking for a Finance Assistant (Rents) to join our Finance team at bpha, supporting the accurate setting, reviewing, and management of rents across our homes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Working closely with the Rent Accountant and wider teams, you will play a key role in making sure rents are set correctly, compliantly, and on time.
- Supporting the annual rent review and helping ensure rents comply with the Regulator of Social Housing's Rent Standard.
- Analysing rent data and setting rents for re-let properties across different tenure types.
- Carrying out financial processing tasks, including checking rent debits, processing rent adjustments, and accounting for rental income.
- Updating finance systems and ensuring rent and budget data is accurate.
- Responding to rent-related queries from colleagues and customers, providing clear and helpful information.
- Registering rental deposits with the Deposit Protection Scheme (DPS).
- Using data and insight to identify inconsistencies and help improve processes.
You will be part of a team that prides itself on delivering a great service and getting things right first time.

This role is ideal for someone who already has experience in a housing finance environment and wants to continue developing their skills.
Essential
- Some experience in financial processing, such as working in an accounts or finance support role.
- Experience working within a Housing Association or Local Authority.
- A good understanding of different tenure types.
- Strong numeracy skills and confidence working with data.
- Good IT skills, including finance systems and Microsoft applications.
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- The ability to organise and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines.
Desirable
- A part accounting qualification or qualified by experience.
