We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative for a busy construction hire yard. We specialise in Shoring Equipment for the civil engineering industry and can list most of the largest civils companies in the UK and Ireland as our customers.

Role:

  • Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Receive, check, and store incoming goods and materials.
  • Pick, prepare, and dispatch customer orders.
  • Prepare Hire documentation and update systems with all on/off hire activity.
  • Operate yard equipment and machinery, such as forklifts.
  • Maintain stock accuracy and assist with stock checks.
  • Keep the yard and workshop clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
  • Support other warehouse and yard activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, logistics, construction, or manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills and the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Skills:

  • Forklift licence.
  • Full UK drivers licence with BE (trailer) a distinct advantage.
  • Computer literate.
  • Welding experience desirable.
