Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for leading Badenoch and Strathspey Therapy Gardens’ project work, undertaking sessions in the Growing Spaces within the Am Fasgadh allotments; the Therapy Garden at Badenoch and Strathspey Community Hospital and Health Care Centre; within Newtonmore and Grantown Care Homes; and the Glen Centre. The project aims to provide social and therapeutic horticulture to the different groups of service users who will have sessions in the Garden/s Growing Spaces or Care Homes/Day Centre.
The project leader requires knowledge of gardening, not necessarily a qualification, but importantly, experience of working or volunteering with people who have a range of disabilities. They will also be responsible for supervising and supporting a small team of volunteers and delivering training to them. The post holder will contribute to monitoring the policies and ensure effective recording, reporting and evaluation of the project.
