Trade Finance Lawyer

We are currently seeking Trade Finance Lawyers to support Axiom clients across financial services, banking, commodities, corporate, infrastructure and other industry sectors on a broad range of domestic and international trade-finance, export-finance, supply-chain-finance and related banking matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice on trade-finance matters, including letters of credit, demand guarantees, standby letters of credit, performance bonds, receivables finance, supply-chain finance and export finance.
• Draft, review and negotiate trade-finance and related documentation, including facility agreements, guarantees, security documents, letters of credit, trade instruments, ancillary finance documents and transaction documentation.
• Advise banks, financial institutions, corporates, exporters, importers, treasury teams and internal stakeholders on transaction structures, documentation, risk and commercial considerations.
• Partner with legal, finance, treasury, commercial, risk, compliance, external counsel and deal teams to support domestic and international transactions throughout their lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer eligible to practise in the UK, or an equivalent qualification with relevant trade-finance, banking and finance or cross-border finance experience, and right to work in the UK.
• Experience advising on one or more trade-finance areas, including letters of credit, guarantees, documentary credits, supply-chain finance, receivables finance, export finance or structured trade finance.
• Strong drafting, review and negotiation experience across trade-finance, lending, security or related commercial documentation.
• Excellent commercial awareness, drafting ability, communication, stakeholder-management and analytical skills, with the ability to deliver practical, business-focused advice in fast-paced transaction environments.
