As our Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in aligning customer demand, manufacturing capability, material availability and inventory strategy to ensure operational success. You will have the opportunity to lead and develop the site's planning function, owning the end-to-end production planning process, including master scheduling, capacity planning and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and execution of the site master production schedule.
  • Translating customer demand into achievable manufacturing plans.
  • Managing production schedules to align with labour, machinery and material availability.
  • Driving improvements in schedule adherence, planning accuracy and operational performance.
  • Supporting and coordinating the site's S&OP process, balancing demand and capacity.
  • Conducting short, medium and long-term capacity planning and identifying potential constraints.
  • Working closely with Procurement to ensure material availability and minimise supply risks.
  • Driving customer on-time delivery (OTD) performance and managing critical priorities.
  • Maintaining planning master data and improving ERP, MRP and reporting systems.
  • Leading continuous improvement, digitalisation and automation initiatives across planning and supply chain processes.
  • Managing, coaching and developing the Planning Team to achieve high performance and engagement.

This role is critical to supporting the site's growth ambitions through improved planning capability, customer service and operational efficiency.

We are looking for a proactive and commercially aware planning professional who combines strong analytical capability with inspirational leadership skills.

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within a manufacturing planning environment.
  • Proven experience leading planning, scheduling or supply chain activities.
  • Strong knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Production Planning, Capacity Planning, Inventory Management, MRP/ERP systems, and Manufacturing operations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to influence decision-making and manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Previous people management or leadership experience.
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP or equivalent professional qualification.
  • SAP experience.
  • Experience within aerospace, engineering or advanced manufacturing sectors.
  • A-Level qualification or equivalent industry background.
