Sealing Solutions is looking for a full time Quality Inspector based at Cadley Hill and reporting to the VSLA. Working as part of the Quality Team, the main responsibilities of this role are to ensure all fabricated items are manufactured, inspected, and tested in accordance with the relevant work instructions, drawings, specifications, and quality plans. The hours for this role will be rotating shifts 05:00am – 12:40pm and 13:00pm – 20:40pm.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out the process of inspection on all fabricated items to include dimensional checks, functional checks on part specifications and visual checks as required.
- Compliance with continuous improvement of key measures i.e., quality, returns.
- Co-ordinate the selecting and recording of all in-process testing.
- Ensure all fabricated items are manufactured, inspected, and tested in accordance with the relevant work instructions, drawings, specifications, and quality plans.
- Co-ordinate the selecting and recording of all finished part testing.
- Authorised shipment of all parts in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements including approval of C of C, assessment of materials used and test approval confirmation to include approval of JAA Form 1 and completion of test paperwork as required.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to all system requirements including ISO:9000 2000, Health & Safety, Risk Assessments, COSHH, Environmental, ISO:14001, Investors in People and housekeeping.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental legislation within the job holder’s responsibilities.

Knowledge / Experience
- Ability to communicate and develop skills effectively at all levels within the business.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Understanding of Customer specifications.
- Recognition and general understanding of moulding defects.
- Knowledge of Aerospace and associated requirements.
- Ability to use measuring equipment i.e., verniers, micrometres and lofting’s.
- Computer literate and familiar with relevant software packages.
- Detailed understanding of traceability requirements.
- Understanding of the FAIR procedure.

- Good written and verbal skills.
- Team player - Ability to interface at all levels of business.
- Assertive and adaptable.
