In this hands-on role, you’ll manufacture, repair, and maintain tooling to tight tolerances, ensuring all tools are produced to exacting standards and delivered on time. Your craftsmanship will directly support production agility—helping us respond quickly to new orders, custom designs, and changing business needs. You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to guarantee equipment reliability and safe operation across the site. This role is full time working a shift pattern.
Responsibilities
- High-Precision Toolmaking: Manufacture and refurbish high-precision, low-tolerance tooling to technical drawings using manual and CNC workshop equipment, including XYZ ProTrak machines.
- Tool Design & Development: Collaborate with design teams to interpret engineering drawings and develop new tooling solutions that support evolving products, machinery, and processes.
- Innovation & Problem Solving: Provide timely, creative engineering solutions to manufacturing challenges. Propose and implement innovations to improve tooling and production processes.
- Workshop Standards: Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workshop environment through proactive housekeeping and strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide support to maintenance team activities when requested.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to Manufacturing Excellence and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Support process optimisation and operational efficiency.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Assist in developing colleagues, including mentoring apprentices and sharing technical expertise across teams.
Education And Experience
- Apprentice trained engineering qualification or equivalent technical certification.
- Proven experience in precision machining, tool design, and fabrication.
- Skilled in high-precision, low-tolerance toolmaking.
- Experience with CNC and manual machining, particularly on XYZ ProTrak machines.

Geography To Cover And Travel Requirements
