Are you practical, detail-oriented, and looking to build a career in a laboratory environment? We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Materials Laboratory team in Tewkesbury.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to be part of a supportive team that plays a vital role in delivering high-quality testing services for our business and customers.

As a Laboratory Technician, you will support the day-to-day operation of the laboratory by preparing samples, carrying out routine testing, recording results, and helping ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing test blanks, moulded samples, and laboratory specimens for testing.
  • Carrying out routine material and physical testing in line with laboratory procedures.
  • Recording and maintaining accurate test data and documentation.
  • Updating laboratory databases, records, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Supporting the laboratory team in achieving on-time delivery targets.
  • Managing samples and maintaining an organised working environment.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues regarding priorities and testing progress.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Following all quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in people who are enthusiastic, reliable, and keen to learn. Experience in a laboratory environment is beneficial but not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.

  • A positive attitude and willingness to develop new skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Good practical and hands-on abilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel and other computer systems.
  • The ability to organise your workload, manage priorities, and work to deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
