We are seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our TSS Cadley Hill Department. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities by performing a variety of manual labour tasks. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, possess a strong work ethic, and be willing to contribute to various maintenance and repair activities around the property.
Working Hours
Core Days: Monday–Thursday, flexi start time 07:45–08:15, finish 16:30–17:15. Friday 8am–12:30 half day.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, repairs, and general upkeep of the building and grounds.
- Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment for events, meetings, and other activities.
- Support the Facilities Manager in moving heavy items, furniture, and equipment when needed.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, and performing basic plumbing or electrical work under supervision.
- Operate basic tools and equipment, such as lawn mowers, power washers, and hand tools, safely and effectively.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and materials, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to support facility-related projects.
- Follow health and safety regulations, always ensuring safe working practices.
About The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a labour-intensive role or facilities maintenance is an asset but not required.
- Ability to perform manual labour.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tasks (plumbing, electrical, etc.) is a plus.
- Familiarity with cleaning and maintenance equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license would be beneficial but not required.
- FLT counterbalance would be preferred but again not required.
