About the Role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer you will support the development, implementation and ongoing management of the business management system, helping to maintain ISO certification and compliance with applicable standards, regulations and customer requirements. Your role provides quality assurance support across manufacturing processes through internal, supplier, process and customer audits; quality planning and reporting; investigation of quality concerns; root cause analysis; corrective and preventive action; validation and verification; and review of documentation for product release. Working closely with production, technical, quality, supplier and customer-facing teams, your role provides guidance, supports quality-related training and drives continual improvement to strengthen process effectiveness, product quality and customer satisfaction.

About your responsibilities

  • Business Management System & Compliance
    • Develop, maintain and support quality plans, procedures and business management system processes.
    • Support activities to maintain ISO certifications and ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations and customer requirements.
    • Maintain and review business management system documentation, including quality plans, procedures, work instructions, audit records, inspection and test evidence, non-conformance records and corrective and preventive action documentation, ensuring records remain accurate, controlled and available as evidence of compliance.
    • Ensure established quality and process procedures remain effective and are consistently applied.
  • Audit & Supplier Assurance
    • Plan and conduct internal, supplier and process audits in line with business and certification requirements.
    • Coordinate, evaluate and follow up audit findings, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are completed in a timely manner.
    • Facilitate customer or client-initiated audits and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are completed.
    • Plan and support assessments of critical suppliers and vendors, establish and communicate quality requirements, review the quality of incoming materials and ensure identified actions are completed to agreed timescales.
  • Quality Control, Validation & Product Release
    • Support the development and application of testing and inspection protocols, including product inspections, process audits and the review and approval of process and quality documentation to confirm compliance with defined requirements and support product release and distribution.
    • Support investigations into production or quality concerns, including root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up.
    • Support validation and verification activities to ensure processes, products and systems meet quality requirements and specifications.
  • Quality Reporting & Stakeholder Support
    • Collate data and support monthly quality reporting, including current issues, actions and resolution status.
    • Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality issues, provide audit follow-up and support customer satisfaction.
    • Provide guidance to colleagues on quality assurance processes, compliance requirements and quality issue resolution.
  • Training & Quality Awareness
    • Maintain training evidence and support quality-related training requirements for employees.

What you bring

Education & Experience

  • Recognised qualification in engineering, quality management, industrial technology or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Previous experience in a quality assurance or quality-related role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with Quality Management Systems and supporting ISO certification requirements.
  • Experience conducting or supporting internal, supplier or process audits.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis, corrective actions and continual improvement processes.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, product quality requirements and H&S considerations would be advantageous.
