Overview
We have a vacancy for an apprentice trained CNC Turner to join our team and work in the Cells area of our manufacturing facility in Rotherham. The role is in a high-volume CNC turning environment.
Hours and pattern
This position is 38 hours per week on a rotating 2-shift system of earlies and lates, Monday – Friday (38 hours). Shift allowance is paid on the late shift. The Company reserves the right to allocate you to any of the shift patterns with reasonable notice. Hours vary according to the shift you are allocated.
Main Responsibilities
- The main responsibilities of the CNC Turner Setter are to produce high-quality precision parts in the high-volume CNC section according to specifications and engineering drawings, ensuring on-time delivery of products while maintaining high levels of efficiency and minimising downtime.
 - Set and operate a range of CNC Turning machines.
 - Loading and unloading the machines.
 - Using bench slitters.
 - Counting, weighing and packing parts.
 - Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
 - Manage your own work and stay aligned with company health and safety procedures.
 - Carry out additional duties as requested by the Production Supervisor.
 - Conduct quality checks of work in progress using CMM systems to generate quality reports.
 
What we need from you
- Previous experience within a CNC Turning position
 - Setting and Operating experience
 - Programming experience would be advantageous
 - Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience with setting and operating CNC Mills
 - Must have knowledge of at least one of the following controls: Fanuc and Heidenhain
 - Previous experience in engineering production
 - Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and interpret the information to produce a part
 - Apprentice trained with relevant qualification is desired
 - GCSE or equivalent at grade C or above in Maths & English
